Sprout Trimming

Our semi-automatic sprout trimmer is capable of trimming over 19,000 sprouts per hour. The success of our trimmer design is due to its simplicity, making it the most reliable machine of its type on the market today.

From a maintenance perspective, the only requirements are regular lubrication of the product carrier chains and bearings.

Brussel Sprout Trimming Machines

The latest addition to our machinery lineup, is the semi-automatic sprout trimmer which is capable of trimming 19,000 sprouts per hour. The success of our trimmer design is due to its simplicity, making it the most reliable machine of its type on the market today. From a maintenance perspective, the only requirements are regular lubrication of the product carrier chains and bearings.

The sprout trimming machine offers a huge reduction in the throughput time of any given amount verses manual trimming, whilst still providing a high product yield.

The process starts with a row of four stainless cups, attached to a modular belted elevator that picks up four single sprouts and places them onto an HDP (High-Density Plastic ) product block with bowls machined into them. Once the sprouts have been separated into single items, operatives start on the simple task of orienting the sprout so that the stack, or but is downward facing. The sprouts then travel down the machine where any excess stalk protruding from the underside of the product carriers is very cleanly trimmed. The wastelands are on an internal conveyor that exits to the side of the machine and the trimmed sprouts fall from the end of the carrier blocks onto a modular elevator where they are usually discharged into a de-leafing drum, then packaged.

The primary function of our sprout trimmer is to take a small clean cut from the bottom of the sprout, in turn, releasing a single layer of the leaf. The end result is the freshest possible sprout, all ready for packaging.

Our sprout trimmer can accommodate all varieties of sprouts and doesn’t struggle with the changing sprout shapes encountered throughout the harvesting season.

The optimum throughput is in excess of 19,00 sprouts an hour.

Opening side guards with interlocked safety switches offer easy access for hygiene and maintenance.

The waste butt-ends are discharged and a separate conveyor belt from the side of the machine.

ProTrim Sprout Trimmers

Introducing our latest innovation in machinery – the semi-automatic ProTrim machines, a powerhouse range of machinery capable of effortlessly trimming from 18,000 to 36,000 sprouts per hour. Engineered for unparalleled reliability, our trimmers stand out in the market for their ingenious simplicity. Maintenance is a breeze, requiring nothing more than regular lubrication of the product carrier chains and bearings, and general belt tensioning.

The primary function of the ProTrim range is to deliver a precise, clean cut from the bottom of each sprout, shedding a few layers of leaves in the process. The trimmed stems find their way onto a separate conveyor. For added convenience, we offer these trimmers with a short elevator and a de- leafing drum. Position the drum over a flume waste system, or place bins underneath, to effortlessly collect the released leaves.

Effortless and streamlined, our decoring process ensures optimal efficiency at every stage:

What sets our process apart is the meticulous attention to detail. The journey begins with a row of stainless cups attached to a modular belted elevator, picking up and placing single sprouts onto an HDP (High Density Polypropylene) product block with precision-machined bowls. Operatives then embark on the straightforward task of orienting the sprouts, ensuring the stalk faces downward. As the sprouts traverse the machine, any excess stalk protruding from the underside of the product carriers is precisely and cleanly trimmed. Waste is seamlessly directed onto an internal conveyor, exiting to the side of the machine. The trimmed sprouts continue their journey through the machine, onto a modular belted elevator, usually leading to be discharged into our de-leafing drum.

At the heart of our high-care processing equipment is a dedicated focus on hygiene and safety, underscoring our unwavering commitment to delivering the most user-friendly and secure machinery on the market. Our design stands out with fully removable or fully opening guards and covers, strategically interlocked where necessary to ensure the utmost in user safety. Prioritizing cleanliness and well-being, our equipment sets a new standard for ease of cleaning and operational security.
